Engineering & Beyond Gives High School Students a Taste of Engineering

For three Mondays, high school students have been coming to campus to get a peek at the possibilities of engineering at Iowa State. Dr. Tom Brumm represents the Ag & Biosystems Department and teaches the visiting students how to make biodiesel and having them make biodiesel in the lab. Dr. Brumm discusses his workshop on his ABE blog.

ABE Faculty Recognized in Choices Magazine
Dr. Matt Helmers was recognized in the latest Choices magazine for his water quality research. His research article "Agriculture and Water Quality in the Cornbelt: Overview of Issues and Approaches" was highlighted in the magazine. Other researchers from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences were named in the magazine: Thomas Isenhart, natural resource ecology and management, and Catherine Kling, economics.
